David Lowery's Insight on Music Industry

David LoweryDavid Lowery (Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, and more...) gives a very insightful view of how the music industry evolved from the good old physical support market (vinyl, cassette, CDs,...) to the digital age. The bottom line: buy music, don't download it for free guys!

Starryville at Mary Washington University, Sat April 14, 2012

James FarmerJames Farmer, here on he picture, looks very pensive. No more worries James, Starryville is coming in Mary Washington University this Saturday! Count on us to lecture all these brainless students present in the campus so they stop party all week long and work hard instead!

Show is at the Monroe Hall Stage and starts at 12:20 pm, for a 45 minutes set only. Don't be late!!!

Starryville on Spotify

Spotify Logo I just discovered Spotify: that's a cool app that allows you to listen to all music, for free or for a little fee if you want no commercials. I think this is really great because you can listen to Starryville there! Awesome!

Metronomy: Less is More

Here is a band my cousin made me discover during these past holidays: Metronomy. They are coming to the Rock & Roll Hotel in DC on Tuesday March, 27 2012. I'll be there !

No Midi for The Moog Cookbook

The Moog CookbookI just discovered that stuff, even though it's more than 10 years old now. Anyway, this is simply out of time. The band covers tunes from the 90's and before, all with Moogs and vintage synths. I think my prefered one is "Come out and play" by Offspring. Just buy the album and like me, dance like a freak to the groovy sound of the Moogs.

Starryville Sharper than Ever, This Friday Sep 30 2011, at St Elmo Coffee Pub

Last Show of the Year!
We Want to See you all Before Next Year!

St Elmo's Coffee PubYes guys, you read well, this is our last show of year 2011. Not only are we expecting a happy event in the next few weeks, but also we have decided to go on a retreat in India for few months to work on our transcendental meditation with some obscure yogi guru. Guru, tu es mon führer de vivre! But don't get us wrong, we will be, unfortunately for you, back in 2012, more creative than ever.

10 Reasons not to miss the show:
10. We will be 5 on stage.
9. This is a kid friendly show, but no booze for the parents unfortunately.
8. Andy will play his brand new Gretch.
7. It's Friday night and, just like any other night, there's nothing on TV.
6. There's an ice cream shop next door.
5. Alexes looks fatter than ever.
4. You've never been to Del Ray in Alexandria.
3. Paul will hit bold notes during his solos.
2. There is a shop nearby that sells smelly French cheese.
1. Dr Thorn won't wear his GWAR outfit.

Show starts at 8pm. This will be a semi-acoustic set. See you all Friday at St Elmo's!!!
